For The Love of Vinyl

Vinyl records are making a serious comeback and I for sure could not be more excited about it. I have always loved music and grew up listening to a pretty wide variety and for the last few months I'd been dying to get my hands on a record player so that I could start curating a collection of my own! I grew up listening to my Dad's collection and there's no way I could get my hands on any of his old records so - start my own collection is it! I finally received a small Crosley record player for my birthday and I already have my eye on some records that I knew would be the first to add to my new collection. I have an entire list that I want eventually so trust me when I say that trying to pick just a few to start with was practically impossible.

At the moment, I have only gotten around to getting 3 records, all of which are newer artists that I'm loving at the moment and I can easily say that I've been listening to them on repeat for a month. I feel like when you go with new age vinyl, is it just me or is it a rule that have to get some Adele? So 25 by Adele was the first to my collection, followed up by Covers by Sleeping At Last which is my all time favorite artist at the moment, and then Know-It-All by Alessia Cara. I needed a good dance album to throw in the mix and Alessia Cara has won me over lately for my solo dance parties!

I'm always looking for some new ideas for records to add to my collection so feel free to leave some suggestion of your favorites in the comments below! As for me, it's Thursday which means it's my favorite day of the week and a reason for a serious dance party! Thursday always means it's time for a throwback, so I thought I'd share some of my Dad's collection with you that I will for sure be listening to when I'm visiting Florida in just a couple of weeks! It's thanks to these records after all that I have a love of music the way that I do and inspired me to want a collection of my own! These are just a couple of my favorite records that I had growing up. He also has the best sounding turn-table and speaker set up, everything a girl could dream for!
